How to put on snow chains on a car？

Step 1: Prepare the car

It is better that you can install and remove the snow chains in the driveway or a relatively safe place. Of course, when you have to install or disassemble on the way, be sure to be on a safe and flat road. No matter where you are, make sure you have enough space in front of and behind your car to move the snow chains.

At the same time, before your hand touches any place near the tire, please make sure that the hand brake is turned on to avoid accidents. It is a good idea to support the tire with wood blocks as an additional protection measure, but it is also important to remove the excess snow on the tire.

Step 2: Start installing the snow chains

Make sure your car is a front wheel or rear wheel driven, because the snow chains must be installed on the set of tires that drive. When you know which group of tires you need to install snow chains on, remove the snow around the tires as much as possible to make a flat surface.

Spread the anti-skid chains under the car, and buckle the first latch of each chain connected to the ground onto the tire. Make sure that the side of the anti-skid chain full of particles faces the ground, which is the part of the anti-skid chain with the maximum traction.

Step 3: Make the snow chains bite tightly

If the car is a rear wheel drive car, you should back up the snow chains and bite them. If it is front wheel drive, push it forward.

Check whether each tire has fixed the snow chains, and whether gear is lapped on each side. Then get in the car, start the engine, and slowly and carefully move the car forward or backward for a distance with the chain.

Step 4: Fix the snow chains

Once your tire is on the snow chains, pull off the ports that overlap the top of the tire. Each end must be a unit that fits the entire chain gear exactly. Leave a little room for yourself first, and then fasten the device through the two opposite sides of the anti-skid chain link.

Step 5: Protect the snow chains

Each rubber ring of the snow chains has 4 metal hooks evenly distributed around. Each metal hook on the wheel cover edge of the tire is cross fixed in a crisscross manner, which can ensure that the anti-skid chains on the tire will not slip off.

Step 6: Start the vehicle

Now the snow chains should have been installed, which can provide enough traction for the car on the snowy road. However, don't think that the snow chains can guarantee you to drive fast in the harsh driving environment. Start slowly and pay attention to the sound of the car. It may remind you that the snow chains are loose or the tires are not installed properly.

No matter how safe they are, it is unwise to drive tires with snow chains at high speeds.

Step 7: Remove the snow chains

The bad weather will not last forever, so when there is no ice and snow on the road, you should remove the snow chains on your car. Under no circumstances should you drive on snow free roads with chains installed, which will seriously damage your tires.

Removing snow chains is much easier than installing them. Just follow the reverse procedure, remove the snow chains, and store them in a dry place for the next winter.
